Unclaimed shares ?

Your Family May Be Sitting on Shares Worth Recovering.

Lost certificates, an inherited folio, dividends that stopped decades ago. Swasam Investments traces the holding, prepares every document and follows the claim until the shares sit in your demat account. We take the headache. You stay relaxed.

When are shares transferred to IEPF? Shares are generally transferred to IEPF after dividends remain unclaimed for seven consecutive years.
Can i still recover my parents or grandparents shares? Yes, with proper documentation we can recover the shares.

How it works

Four simple steps. We do the heavy lifting.

  1. 1

    Share what you know

Company name, folio or certificate number, or just a photo. Partial details are enough.

  2. 2

    We trace the holding

Swasam Investments checks the company, the registrar and whether the shares moved to the IEPF.

  3. 3

    We prepare and file

Every paper is drafted and filed, and we follow up until queries are cleared.

  4. 4

    Shares in your demat

The shares or dividends are credited to your own demat account or bank account.

Why shares go missing

It is rarely carelessness. It is time.

Paper fades, addresses change, and a seven-year clock runs quietly in the background.

Year 7Shares and dividends move to the IEPF
  1. Paper does not last

Certificates are highly susceptible to moisture, pests, fire and accidental tearing over decades.

  2. Certificates get lost

Moving houses, shifting offices or poor organising frequently leads to lost certificates.

  3. Replacing one is slow

A duplicate needs a police FIR, a newspaper advertisement and indemnity bonds. It can cost thousands of rupees and take many months.

  4. Dividends go uncashed

If you moved and never updated your address with the company, dividend warrants go to the old address and stay uncashed.

  5. The seven-year rule

    The IEPF transfer trap

If dividends stay unclaimed for seven consecutive years, the unpaid dividends and the shares themselves move to the government's Investor Education and Protection Fund. Getting them back is tedious and bureaucratic.

  6. Corporate benefits are missed

Bonus shares, stock splits and rights issues pass you by when the company cannot reach you because its records are out of date.

Unclaimed Shares

We know the route your shares have to take.

This is why someone may discover an old shareholder certificate belonging to their parent or grandparent and wonder whether it still has any value. Why us? Because we know the process of getting your shares to you. If you have found an old certificate, you can check whether the investment appears in an unclaimed shares list or whether there are related records concerning IEPF unclaimed shares. Old paper certificates can sometimes be the starting point for discovering an investment that a family has forgotten about for years. Understanding the history of physical and digital shareholding is the first step toward determining what happened to those investments.

Finding an old certificate does not necessarily mean the investment has been lost. Depending on the circumstances, eligible shareholders or legal heirs may be able to initiate an IEPF claim and recover the applicable shares and dividends.

If you are unsure whether an old investment appears in an unclaimed shares list, the shareholder and company details can be checked and the appropriate recovery process can be done by Swasam Investments +91 98509 90529.
